Twice a year at The Memory Keeper we hold a garage sale. It is a great opportunity for you seasoned scrapbookers with unwanted supplies to turn them into things you will use. It is also a perfect place for the beginner, or even those of you who think you have it all, to find a few great bargins to add to your collection.
Here is how it works....
Selling Your Items at our Garage Sale
Gather up the scrapbooking supplies (we will
only be taking scrapbooking or card making related
items) that you don’t want any more and bring them in for
us to sell for you. After the sale, we will give you a
store gift certificate for the value of the goods we sold
for you. All unsold items will be returned to you. Please
follow the instructions for pricing, and labeling
your items.
IMPORTANT: We will not be taking hand made items.
PRICING PACKAGING AND MARKING YOUR ITEMS
Please follow these instructions carefully:
1) All items brought in for sale must be priced and marked
before they are brought to us. When coming up with a
price, please keep in mind that garage sales are about
deals. One on-line guide suggests you set your price at
approx 30% of retail.
2) Every item must also have a number and your personal
code (which will be your three initials)
So for instance, if you have three items and your name is
Sally Ann Smith, you will tag your
items as follows: SAS #1 $2.00 SAS #2 $3.00 SAS #3 $5.00.
3) Each person must also bring in a list of the items they
have for sale. The list will itemize the
code number, with the price and description of each lot,
and should include your name and
phone number. Sally’s list would look like this:
Sally Ann Smith 905- 555-5555
SAS #1 Small Circle Punch $2.00
SAS #2 Bunny Rubber Stamp $3.00
SAS #3 Mixed lot of templates $ 5.00
4) All items must be at the store by the Wednesday before the garage sale begins.
5) All items must be in good condition. Please do not
bring the following:
· broken items
· partially used sticker sheets
· loose sheets of paper
If you have unwanted whole sheets of paper, you may
package them together in an oversized
zip lock bag (available at Zellers) and price it as a
package, rather than per sheet.
Please feel free to give me (Sheila) a call if you have
any questions, or are uncertain if specific items
are appropriate.
